Scripture: Proverbs 3:13-35
“For the Lord will be your confidence and will keep
your feet from being snared”. Proverbs 3:26
In our Bible lesson today, the Holy Spirit, who authored the Bible (2tim 3:16) emphasizes the paramount value of wisdom and understanding above all other virtues. The one who finds wisdom and gets understanding will be happy; enjoy length of days, riches and honor. Also, the wisdom and understanding of God discovered and at work in your life will bring peace, direction and pleasantness to you.
In verse 23, it is stated categorically that you shall neither stumble, nor be oppressed by fear. That which befalls the wicked will not touch you because the wisdom and understanding of God at work in your life will fortify you against them.
All of these benefits accompany the acquisition and operation of understanding and wisdom in our lives. What then is wise thing for us to do? It is not to pursue wealth, riches or any of these products but rather to seek the source and generator of these products: the wisdom and understanding of God. Invest into Reading, Study, Meditation, Tapes, CD’s, and Books, Everything that will enhance your acquisition of wisdom and understanding of God. That is the wise thing to do.
PRAYER: Father, give me the discipline to diligently invest into acquiring your wisdom and understanding.
FAITH BYTE: I have the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God.
