SEARCH FOR IT

Scripture: Proverbs 2:1-15

“And you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding
if you look for it as the silver and search for it as for hidden
treasure” Proverbs 2:3-4

In getting the wisdom that the book of proverbs talked about, you must be ready to exercise the diligence to search and search for it. This reminds me of the incidence of the kidnap of oil workers by some youths in our country due to youth unrest a while back. The kidnappers threatened to kill the workers if their company did not yield to their demands.


Every body in the company began searching for the workers up and down the villages and communities. The police went to some kings and chiefs, hoping to influence the kidnappers to release the workers. Nobody was willing to work anymore in the company because their colleagues had been kidnapped.

The police intensified their search because they wanted the workers to be found and brought home without harm. The deep intensity behind the action of the police and the other workers in searching for the kidnapped workers is our study today. Cry out! Cry out! Look for! If you do these things you will find what you are looking for. The Lord assures us that he that seeketh - findeth. Let us seek wisdom.

PRAYER: I receive the grace to search out God’s wisdom as a priority.
