LISTEN TO HIM

Scripture: Proverbs 1:20-33

“but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease,
without fear of harm” Proverbs 1:33 (NIV)

God is always calling on us his children to listen to Him, but sometimes the cares of this world blind us from seeing and hearing His voice. His foolishness is wiser than man’s knowledge; wisdom calls aloud in the street, raises her voice in the public square, cries out at the chief place of the noisy streets, and makes her speech in the gate way of the city. It would be of a great disadvantage to the believer to ignore that voice.
The thief comes but to steal kill and destroy, making sure there is an alternative for people to choose so as to not listen to the wisdom of God.

The scripture emphasizes that God speaks all the time. It is left for us to prepare ourselves to hear Him... Abraham listened to God and he became the father of many nations. Jacob listened to Him and his name was changed to Israel. Moses heard the voice and listened to God’s instructions and took Israel out of Egypt. Also, when Moses failed to listen to God’s instruction to speak to the rock and struck the rock instead, he could not enter into the Promised Land.

Listen for God’s voice and adhere to His instructions today so that you can live in safety and be at ease.

PRAYER: Lord, as you speak to me from today, help me to recognize your voice and follow your instructions in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I listen to God’s voice. I always hear him when he speaks to me.
