DO YOU SEEK TO PLEASE GOD?

Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 2:1-10

“…. Our purpose is to please God, not people”. 1 Thessalonians 2:4(NLT)

When you have people under you or are leading a team, your expectation for these people is that they should be faithful to your vision for the organization i.e. they should obey instructions. When they obey, you are pleased with them.

In the same vein, as followers of Christ we should strive to please God in word and deed. When we share the word that has been entrusted to us by God, our purpose should be to please God not people. Can you identify those things in vs. 4-8 that we ought to guard against as we strive to please God in this work? Also did you observe that we need to have the right motives at all times (see vs.
4)?

As people called of God let us put aside flattery, greed, the desire to be praised by men or involvement in schemes that place heavy burdens on other believers instead share the gospel in love and be caring especially towards the brethren.

PRAYER: Father, help me to be pleasing to you always.

FAITH BYTE: I am a messenger entrusted with the good news. I spread through actions that please God.
