SPEAKING IN TONGUES

Scripture: Acts 2:1-4

“I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all;” 1 Corinthians 14:18 (KJV)

It is an established belief that God is a God of order. He puts first things first and will not allow things that matter the most to be at the mercy of those which matter the least. In addition, when beginning a project, the first things that are done are usually foundational in nature. They are critical for the success of the project. Trouble looms when first things are left to be done last.

What was the very first gift the Holy Spirit gave the Apostles, what was the first thing the Apostles did after their encounter in the upper room? They spoke in tongues! It must mean that speaking in tongues is a foundational gift, crucial for accomplishing God’s purpose for your life. It is however baffling how it has been relegated to the background by many Christians. Many spend days or months without praying in tongues. Many don’t believe in it, others have not received the gift. This is the work of the deceiver, always trying to turn our attention away from what matters most.

If you do not have the gift, urgently go to your pastor and ask him to lay hands on you to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost (Acts 18:17). By faith, begin to speak in tongues; in the morning, in the afternoon and in the night. The goal is to speak in tongues more than every other person. The impact on your life and ministry will be tremendous.

PRAYER: Lord, give me the grace to be fervent in praying in tongues.

FAITH BYTE: I will ensure that I speak in tongues more than everyone else.
