FEAR THE LORD

Scripture: Proverbs 14:23-35

“In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children
shall have a place of refuge. The fear of the Lord is a fountain
of life, to depart from the snares of death”. Proverbs 14:26-27

Feedback: Ponder on how preaching the good news to others made you feel.

To fear the Lord is to reverence God and keep to His word in season and out of season (i.e. whether you feel like it or not, you must obey and do His word all the time). It is one powerful force that restrains us from sinning against God.

When you do this, you are exhibiting strong, determined and unfailing trust (confidence) in God because you will always find refuge in Him (v.26). Not only that, the flow of the life of God in you will always blossom and be like a fountain. And of course, it will keep you from the snares of death (v.27). “For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death”.

The fear of the Lord is one of the dimensions of the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 11v.2). In order to develop and grow in the fear of the Lord, we need the help of the Holy Spirit. Pray and ask Him to help you.

Reflection: Do I fear God enough to avoid sin like Joseph in the Bible?

PRAYER: Lord, let your reverential fear be in me always.

FAITH BYTE: I fear the Lord and in His fear, I enjoy strength and confidence.

This Week Walk of Faith: To show you fear and obey God, obey them great commission, preach the goodnews to at least two people this week.
