CALLED TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE

Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 4:1-12

“For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life”.
1 Thessalonians 4:7(NIV)

All believers should strive to lead lives that are pleasing to God. We call God our father and God is holy, so if we call him father, we should aspire to be holy like him for we are a people who have been set apart for his pleasure. When we reject holy living we reject God himself (vs.8)
because this is his instruction and his way. Moreover we are warned in verse 6 that unholy living will be punished

Presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice is the barest minimum we can do to show that we are set apart for God’s pleasure: We should put our members under control avoiding all fleshly lusts; by so doing we would not be abusing the grace of God.

We do these things so our daily lives can be good witnesses of Christ to unbelievers (see vs12). Let us endeavour to leave a holy life for that is the lifestyle of kingdom-minded believers.

PRAYER: Father, as I take care to live a holy and acceptable life according to your instructions, I depend on your grace to uphold me at all times.

FAITH BYTE: My members are under my control. They are yielded for the Lord’s work only.
