THE CLAW OF SIN

Scripture: Romans 7:7-25

“Catch us the foxes, The little foxes that spoil the vines,
for our vines have tender grapes” Song of Solomon 2:15 (NKJV)

There are many in church who are in constant struggle with one particular sin or the other. They may hate their action, express remorse and willingness to break free from them, yet they go back repeatedly to their vices.

Sin separates us from God, and that is what spiritual death implies No believer should be held bound by the chain of sin.
When Jesus died on the cross, he conquered sin. When he resurrected, he gave
us dominion over sin. Jesus paid a steep price for your dominion, so exercise it. You have control over your life, you are the one in charge. Do not take sin lightly or gloss over it. Sin grows when kept
in secret. Your first step to breaking free from evil and or sinful habits is to confess it. If need be, you can talk to someone you trust like your Pastor or another believer, who is spiritually sound to help and counsel you.

You must walk in the consciousness of who you are in Christ. You are a blood-washed child of God who cannot be held bound by the enticing trap of sin. You have the power to overcome this
attraction. Avoid situations or experiences that feed any desire to walk contrary to God’s desire for you. Guard your heart by crowding it with the word of God (Proverbs 4:23). When you are full of the word, you become a danger to the enemy. His fiery darts will find no place to lodge in your heart. It is the word that you know and feast on that will save you when the flood of sin seeks to overwhelm. Engage it and walk in it.
