Scripture: Genesis 26:19-25
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us,
who can be against us?” Romans 8:31 (KJV)
God is a spirit and he is ever present in our lives. Many believers become weary and wonder what the point of their faith is when they hit trying times. Some may even contemplate abandoning their faith. The truth is, there is no “us” without God. We cannot tread life’s waters without his help. We need God to overcome.
The scripture tells us how Isaac and his servant contended with the herdsmen of Gerar. Perhaps, there were times Isaac wanted to give up or even times his servants wanted to give up on him.
But Isaac stood firm. He knew he carried an advantage. He knew God’s promises to his father Abraham extended to him (Genesis 26:24). Do you need a confirmation that God is by your side? You have his
word as confirmation. He has promised he will never leave nor forsake you. He has promised he will go through the fire and storm with you. You may appear to be on the losing side now but it does not change the truth that God is for you and your battle will end in victory if you trust him.
If Isaac had given up after his initial encounter with the herdsmen, he would not have known God was on his side during his struggle. When you give up easily, you miss out on God’s promises and the chance to build up your spiritual muscles. The key during trying moments is to listen. If you do, you will hear God speak to your heart. He has a plan for you no matter how bumpy the ride and he will ride right through it with you. Simply hold on tight and keep the faith.
PRAYER: Lord, I decree and declare that I will not be afraid for you are with me and you will bless and multiply me in Jesus name.
FAITH BYTE:Because God is for me, no adversary shall succeed against me.
