Scripture: John 3:1-15
"Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.” John 3:6 (NIV)
Many believers, like Nicodemus, are still confused or unsure as to what it means to be truly born again. It is the rebirth of one’s spirit by the Spirit of God (2 Corinthians 5:17). It is a transformation. It is the recreation of the human, an entirely brand new creature that is one with God. This is the basis of a relationship with God and it is His will and purpose for our lives.
Being born again is a completely spiritual exercise and it is the work of grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). In other words, salvation is automatic the moment we act on the word of God (Romans 10:9- 10).
Whenever you have reached the decision to believe with your 2heart and confess Jesus as your Lord and saviour, you are born again. It is not about what you do, your good deeds and philanthropy, but simply believing and confessing Jesus as your Lord to become one with God.
If you have not said the sinner’s prayer, surrender to God now and ask for forgiveness. Place your trust in God for your salvation. When you get filled with the Holy Spirit and begin to speak in different tongues, your spirit is energized and tremendous power is made available unto you. You have the assurance of the kingdom of God when you are born again. Are you genuinely born again? If you are not, acknowledge your sin and ask Jesus to become Lord and Saviour over your life today.
PRAYER: Lord, fill me up with you, as I open myself to be born of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus name
FAITH BYTE: I am born again; my spirit is bonded to God’s Spirit.
