ARE YOU READY?

Scripture: Matthew 25:1-12

“You also must be ready all the time, for the son of man
will come when least expected.” Matthew 24:44 (NLT)

Lack of preparation is a sure way to failure. To succeed at anything in life, you must prepare and be ready to give your best when the opportunity comes. For preparation to be effective, it must be thorough, purposeful and early.

As Christians, we must live in communion with the Holy Spirit, and in constant fellowship with God.
We must also dwell daily on the Word of God and use it as a basis for everything we do. Our actions and interactions must be pure and godly. We must strive to live without blemish (Matthew 5:48) and we must be willing to promptly plead for mercy and forgiveness whenever we err. This is what it means for a Christian to be ready.

Are you born again? If you are, stay strong and unwavering in your new life in Christ. If you are not born again, today is the best time to submit yourself-body, soul and spirit to the authority of Jesus Christ, who gave His life for your salvation. Turn back to God if you are backslidden. A break from righteous living can be disastrous. Remember, you cannot rely on yesterday's good works as collateral to excuse yourself from living holy today. Are you ready for the Second Coming of Jesus? Do not fall into the predicament of the virgins who did not keep their lamp full of oil and were caught unawares when the bridegroom arrived. Resolve to live right today. Today may be your only opportunity.

PRAYER: Lord, enable me to be ready for you, in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I am ready.
