REFRAIN FROM DECEIT

Scripture: Acts 5:1-11

“I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth,
but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth” 1 John 2:21 (KJV)

Deception means deliberately causing someone to believe what is not true especially for personal gain. The intent is to mislead others and this is unpleasant in the sight of God.

Ananias and Sapphira lied and paid a costly price for it. They lost their lives. Perhaps they thought that they could deceive God or that God would understand but God does not understand what is not right.
Peter also committed this act in form of his denial of Jesus. All lies are the same. When you lie, you deceive and mislead people and you offend God.

Being truthful in all things is a virtue that should be instilled from childhood. It should not be an option but a lifestyle. Beware that children learn fast from parents and other adults around them.
Truthfulness is a virtue that pleases God and gives you favour with men. Regardless of the circumstances, remain truthful because all instructions from God work together for our good at the end.

PRAYER:Lord, grant me the grace to speak the truth at all times and guide my words so they do not mislead others in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I speak the truth at all times because I am a Child of God.
