OBEDIENCE IS THE KEY

Scripture: 1 Samuel 15:22-24

“I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work
which thou gavest me to do.” John 17: 4 (KJV)

Obedience is the central theme that runs through the bible. The great feats accomplished by our Fathers of faith, such as Abraham and Jesus, were underlined by their obedience to God. The ones, who failed, did so as a result of disobedience. King Saul is a key example. Even today, the major
victories we accomplish is when we align in obedience to God’s word.

A believer will struggle to fulfill purpose if they choose to walk against God’s instruction. Moses found his place with God through the key of obedience. When he chose to act contrary to God’s command, he paid dearly for it (Numbers 20:7-12). Even when Jesus struggled with the pain of the sacrifice he had to make for the world, He bowed in obedience to his Father (Luke 22:42) and God provided him strength in the form of an angel.

God is mindful of your weakness. He knows and understands your human frailty and limitations. He will provide the resources you need for the task he has given. Partial obedience to God is as good as disobedience. You have no excuse but to promptly obey him. If you ask him, he will give you the clarity and direction you need for the task. You must be sensitive to him and listen. Remember, God
responds to your obedience. He will bless and prosper you.

PRAYER: Lord, give me the grace for prompt obedience to your word in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I receive the spirit of obedience. I obey God always.
