GOD’S GRACE

Scripture: Ephesians 2:1-10

“Not of works, lest any man should boast.:”
Ephesians 2:9 (KJV)

People tend to reward others according to their actions. Some people pay evil for evil and repay good for good. Some religions believe that, the more good you do on earth, the easier your passage becomes into heaven. They, therefore, encourage their followers to do good works often but it takes the grace of God to do good.

The bible admonishes us to be good and do good to every person (Galatians 6:10). It also reminds us that salvation comes from God, it is not a product of our own doing. We did not work to earn it. God chose to bestow it on us. God’s grace brought Jesus. Jesus Christ made it possible for us to be called sons of God. We will be spiritually dead without him. Our good works means nothing without him and without his grace. His grace gave us new life with Christ, raised us up with Christ and gave us a seat with Him in the heavenly places.

God did all this for us who are in Christ Jesus. We got that grace by believing in God’s only begotten son, Jesus Christ. We did not save ourselves. It was a gift from God, you are not saved by the things you have done. God made us what we are, he made us new so that we would do good things. Do not boast about your prowess in the kingdom. You must continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling. It is through God’s grace not by our works that you are and you move (Philippians 2:12b).
