Scripture: Matthew 12:33-37
“So produce fruit that is consistent with repentance
[demonstrating new behaviour that proves a change of heart,
and a conscious decision to turn away from sin].” Matthew 3:8 (AMP)
Trees bear fruit according to their kind. You can not expect to see grapes on an orange tree; that would be an error. A good tree will only bear good fruits.
Just as trees bear fruit that befit their kind so should believers exhibit character that befit repentance. Our actions must be synonymous with our faith. Your actions tell the state of your heart.
You cannot tear down if your heart is full of love. You will not lose control if you produce the fruit of temperance. Your heart will rule your actions. You can only give what you have. If your life has not been transformed by the operation of the Holy Spirit, you cannot produce the fruits that represent a life ruled by him. The fruit you bear will be contrary to who he is.
Jesus warns that every man will give account of his actions. Do your actions speak well of the God you profess to serve? Does your conduct condemn your faith? Are you a true brand ambassador? Your words and behaviour must model Christ. This is the evidence of your profession.
PRAYER: Lord, saturate my heart with your nature. Let my every action reflect you in Jesus name.
FAITH BYTE: I am a true ambassador of God’s Kingdom on earth. I model Christ to the world.
