AROMA OF LIFE

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 2:12-17

“You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has
lost its flavour?” Matthew 5:13a (NLT)

There are two powerful senses a human possesses that bring him pleasure or displeasure; the sense of smell and the sense of taste. Spiritually as Christians, our lives are like a sweet smelling fragrance. This means that our lives bring pleasure to God and the people around us. Anything short of that experience means that we are under-performing.

Our passage talks about our fragrance (personality and character) presented by Christ to God. It would be safe to say without Christ in our lives our fragrance will definitely not attract people. Our fragrance will be perceived as an ungodly behaviour, character and every form of manifestation that lacks the presence of God and leads to doom – the smell of death. Insecurity and fear are some of the circumstances most people find themselves because unpleasant fragrance will attract unpleasant situations.

Finally, the presence of God in your life adds flavour to your life and makes all things work for your good. It attracts goodness to you, opens doors of favour, and even causes your enemies to be at peace with you (Proverbs 16:7). Whatever the situation, never let the fragrance of Christ in you fade. Do everything to enhance the spread of that sweet smelling fragrance so that it can reach the unsaved.
