THE TRUE YOU

Scripture: Genesis 1:26-28

‘‘Beloved, now we are the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear
what we shall be: but we know that when he shall appear,
we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.’’ I John 3:2 (KJV)

A mirror does not define you, for it gives an incomplete, unwholesome reflection of a small aspect of the great, beautiful personality called you. Your reflection in the mirror therefore must never be your basis of self-awareness; neither should you permit anyone – including yourself; box you into a lesser definition. Truthfully speaking, nothing and no one can truly, perfectly define you, except the one who made you – God.

Our opening scripture summarizes everything about you – your attributes, persona and capacity. You are in reality, a reflection of God Himself, nothing more, nothing less. Unpleasant experiences, failures, negative words, sin, ignorance, and faithlessness may have formed a faulty, warped image of you, but in the mind of God, you are still the one He had in mind when He made you – a masterpiece. Quit running in circles trying to be what you are not. Go back to your creator if you have lost a grip of your identity and He will not only reveal your true-self to you, but also restore you to the pure, blessed and glorious person He made you to be.

To become the real you, you first must believe you are who He says you are, and then work to reflect His power, goodness and glory in every aspect of your life through prayer and by the power of the Holy Ghost. The template and design for the true you are in the Word of God; hence you must shape your life after it. You must go beyond just hearing to doing the Word (James 1:25) so you can manifest all that is said concerning you.

PRAYER: Thank you Father for making me like You, in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I am a reflection of God; I am holy, glorious and blessed!
