LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

Scripture: Matthew 5:13-16

“But the path of the just is as the shining light,
that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”
Proverb 4:18 (KJV)

Feedback: Ponder on Jesus’ words, “forgive them for they know not what they do”.

Most people think that a leader is someone who has the highest title or who possesses the highest qualification. Being a leader is not determined by one’s status, age, gender, or position, but by the ability to affect, motivate, and influence people towards the achievement of a goal. Just like a light has the ability to influence the visibility of a thing or environment, a leader must possess the ability to influence and stir his or her followers towards a set goal.

The scripture lets us know that we are the light of the world. This means that we are to shine so that all men (family, neighbourhood, workplace, church etc.) can see. Our lives as believers must keep shining brightly, so as to affect and influence everyone and anything that comes in contact with us. As a leader, in your task of bringing all men to Christ, your light should bring happiness, comfort, and love to all around you. You must serve as a living example of God’s love and show the world the ways of God through your words and actions.

You may ask yourself how you can keep your light shining continually, and how to keep influencing others positively in themidst of challenges? You need to come to the realisation that it is not by your power but by the grace of God who lives in you. You are made in the image and likeness of God and where the light of God shines, no darkness can comprehend. You have to serve God in truth and spirit then your light will never go out.

Reflection: What can I do to live as an example of God’s love?

PRAYER: Lord, let your light radiate through me in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I am the light of theworld, I will lead by the help of God and my light will shine brighter and brighter.

This Week Walk of Faith: Make this week your week of positive influence. Deliberately choose one person you would want to influence positively.
