PROTECT YOUR PASTORS

Scripture: II Samuel 21:15-17

‘‘And he said, Lord I am ready to go with thee,
both into prison, and unto death.’’ Luke 22: 33 (KJV)

The devil, aware of the key role pastors play in tending to the flock, daily bombards them with numerous spiritual and physical problems because he knows that their fall will be calamitous to the entire church. David, though a mighty warrior, waned in strength and was almost killed in the battle with the Philistines had Ishbibenob not defended and killed the giant that meant to kill him (II Samuel 21:15 – 17). Like Ishbibenob, you must be quick to defend and protect your pastors.

Aaron and Hur stood with, and held the hands of Moses when he was weak (Exodus 17:12), Shem and Japhet covered Noah’s nakedness (Genesis 9:23), the widow of Zarephath fed Elijah (I Kings 17: 13 – 15), the Philippian church was kind to Paul (Philippians 4:15 – 16; 8). You too can be of help to your man of God. You can pray for him and his family, speak up in his defence in the face of criticism, cover his ‘nakedness’ from prying eyes, encourage him when he fails, support him in the work of the, ministry, and provide for his material needs without being asked.

It is unfair and unwise to demand so much from your pastor and give little or nothing to support them. You must realise that though anointed, they are still human, with weaknesses, challenges, needs and issues. Support and pray for your pastors, for if the shepherd be stricken, the sheep will scatter and the lambs will be eaten (Zechariah 13:7).

REMEMBER TO ATTEND: Leadership/Communion Service tomorrow, 5:30PM.

PRAYER: I receive the grace to support/defend my pastors in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I stand with, and fight for my pastors so they can stand strong.
