BE OBEDIENT

Scripture: II Kings 5:1-14

‘‘Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the Lord thy God,
and do his commandments and his statutes, which I
command thee this day.’’ Deuteronomy 27:10 (KJV)

Many believers are ever willing to obey God and do His will, but are disobedient to civic and spiritual leadership or authority. They look down on their leaders, fault all they do, and reason out whatever instruction they are given, before they choose to obey or not. While God can talk to you through the leading of the Holy Spirit, He also places leaders in our lives to guide and aid us in executing daily what He has instructed us.
Anyone in authority over you must be respected, and his/her instructions taken seriously, unless such are opposed to your faith and the Word of God (Hebrews 13:7).To disobey their words and instructions is to disobey the voice and instruction of God, because it is God that put them in authority over us. Naaman would not have been healed had he insisted on disobeying the instruction of the prophet. Disobedience can short-circuit your access to your blessings.

Do not look down on or take for granted those in authority over you. You don’t owe them criticism, but support, prayer, encouragement and obedience. Remember, God does not call the qualified, but qualifies the called. Their instructions must not make sense, or be convenient for you to obey. All that is demanded of you is to obey (in the Lord) absolutely. Be an obedient child, employee, citizen, student, and Christian.

REMEMBER TO ATTEND: MAP Meeting (Home Fellowship) tomorrow.

PRAYER: Dear Father, teach me to be obedient to You and my leaders always in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I am not a rebel; I’m totally obedient to God and my leaders.
