DROP THE BAGGAGE

Scripture: 1 John 1:1-10

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us
our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness".
1 John l: 9(KJV)

Effective prayer does not only draw from what you say today, but even more from what you did yesterday. This is why the sin of today must be repented of today and discarded. If not, it becomes the mountain that hinders your tomorrow. Nothing offends God like stale sin. Sin is offensive enough to God when it is new, but even more when the night falls and the dew falls upon it.
Then it really begins to fester. God deters unconfessed sin so much because it allows the failure of yesterday to hinder the success of today and tomorrow. Before God can forget your sinful past, you must first ask for forgiveness, God wants to move on with His programme for your life more than you want to.

Sin hinders the mercies allocated for the new day. Anything that tampers with your capacity to attain your future provokes God to anger. He guards your tomorrow jealousy. An attitude of unconfessed sin despises that glorious future of yours, which God excitedly looks forward to.

The sin of today, yesterday, 'yesteryears' must not accompany you beyond now. Confess them to God now and ask Him to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Drop the baggage of sin, and move on.

REMEMBER TO ATTEND: MAP Meeting (Home Fellowship) tomorrow.

PRAYER:  Lord as I confess, I receive forgiveness for my sins (mention it specifically) in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I come boldly to the throne of grace; I obtain mercy and find grace to help me in my time of need.
