VICTORY IN CHRIST

Scripture: 2 Samuel 8:1-14

“And the lord preserved David whithersoever he went.” 2 Samuel 8:6b (KJV)

Every day of our lives, we go through one battle or the other. We are surrounded by many adversaries, at home, the marketplace, work place, environment and community. Do not be dismayed for no matter the challenge, your victory is sure.

RESPECT GOD’S SERVANT

Scripture: 2 Samuel 6:16-23

“…Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets so shall ye prosper” 2 Chronicles 20:20 (KJV)

Many Christians today do not realize that talking carelessly about a true man of God is a direct affront to God. The Bible says touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm (Ps, 105:15). Therefore, we ought to always respect and honor God’s prophets. We must ensure that we do no harm whatsoever to their person, personality or family.

THE RIGHT WORK ETHICS

“Master, provide your servants (employees) with what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a master in heaven”  Colossians 4:1 (ASV)

Organizations and homes will always require people to carry out tasks that will help them achieve their varying objectives. The success of this working relationship between the employer and the employee rests on each of the party fulfilling their part of the obligation agreed upon.

THE GOOD LEADER

“He is like the light of morning at sunshine on a cloudless morning, like the brightness after rain that brings grass from the earth” 2 Samuel 23:4 (NIV)

Leadership is a task that has lots of responsibilities attached to it. A lot of times and if not careful, a leader may become weary and consider stepping down in order to enjoy some rest and relief. Leadership is a task that requires lots of care and sensitivity.

CHILDREN AS HERITAGE

“Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me; and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.” Mark 9: 37 (KJV)

One of the goals of parenthood is to raise children to love and follow God (Deut. 6:2) and to help them reach their individual potentials (Prov. 22:6). The bible is protective of children but realistic about what measures are necessary to develop their character.

LOYALTY: AT WHAT COST?

“For I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” Acts 21:13b (KJV)

It is common place to hear people declare “I AM LOYAL” to others, especially to people they respect or expect favours from. Loyalty, however, is not usually discerned in mere words.

GOD’S UNIVERSAL GRACE

“Behold I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him, and he with me.”  Revelation 3:20 (KJV)

God’s grace that brings salvation has been freely provided for everyone on earth. The only thing that sets us apart is that we have accepted it, while those who are yet to be saved have so far rejected it. Everyone on earth needs salvation, and salvation is available for everyone,
