HIDDEN SOLUTIONS

Scripture: John 6:1-12

“There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves,
and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?” John 6:9 (KJV)

It is very easy to spot the obvious. For instance, if you need water you immediately look for the obvious source of water around you, a tap, a well, a river. Likewise, when you need help, you begin to look for rich friends and relatives to bail you out. Philip when presented with the problem of feeding 5000 men, immediately looked at the obvious solution, money to buy 5000 loaves of bread.

Like Philip, we spend so much time thinking about the solution we know, that we become blind to other alternatives. We get stuck in analysis paralysis. We analyze how much it will cost to feed over 5000 people, then analyze how to get the money, then analyze how impossible it seems, all the while, we remain at one spot. Meanwhile a young lad with 5loaves and 2 fishes is there, uncounted, ignored, discounted. Praise be to God that Jesus already knew the solution. The boy and his little food that people overlooked was where God placed the solution. The prophet's widow needed money to pay off her late husband’s debts, but discounted the pot of oil which God eventually used to bail her out(2 Kings 4:2).
What have you discounted that God wants to use to help you? Is it a relationship, a skill, a business plan? Is it that expensive phone or shoe that you need to sell to start your business? Go to God in prayer; ask Him to reveal to you the solution that you are overlooking.

REMEMBER TO ATTEND: Leadership/Communion Service tomorrow, 5:30PM.

PRAYING: My Heavenly Father, help me to see the solutions that I have overlooked in Jesus Name.
