MATURING SPIRITUALLY

Scripture: Exodus 2:11-25

For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept;
line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: Isaiah 28: 10 (KJV)

Spiritual maturity is not automatic. You must pass through spiritual growth. Moses must have thought that he was matured enough to deliver Israel but God had to let him go through the process of growth for 40 years.

Spiritual growth is progressive and it requires deliberate effort. You decide to grow. God will not force growth on you. Spiritual growth requires that we feed on the word of God daily. The word is food for the spirit. In acts 20:32 we read” I commend you to God and to the word of his grace which is able to BUILD YOU UP (mature you) and give you an inheritance amongst them that are sanctified” God’s word is the maturing agent. Meditate on it daily.

Spiritual maturity is not attainable because of your call. There are some things you have to break down into daily habits e.g. quiet time, study etc. Don’t forget that blossoms are different from fruits. When you see the flower, it gives you an encouragement to expect the fruit. You grow unto maturity and you keep growing in maturity.

PRAYER: Lord, give me the required growth pills for every stage in my walk with you.

FAITH BYTE: I press towards the mark, press hard towards spiritual maturity and I am consistently growing.
