Scripture: Judges 20:26-37
“They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” Psalm 126: 5-6 (KJV)
Feedback: Share how studying the word of God daily makes you feel.
After the children of Israel were defeated twice by the tribe of Benjamin, they turned to the Lord for the third time. But this time they went to the Lord with fasting and sacrifices and when they did, they received God’s promise of victory (v28)
and the strategy to deploy to defeat the Benjamites (v29, 36-37)
We cannot fold our hands and wait for God’s instructions and promises to happen. We have a part to play. Moses had to lift his hands for the Israelites to defeat the Amalekites. Solomon made a sacrifice to be confirmed on his father’s throne and the Israelites had to make a sacrifice in order to defeat the Benjamites.
Today, we can also activate God’s word and promises to us through sacrifice. It could be a sacrifice of our time to a cause that impacts the lives of others positively. We can offer a sacrifice of praise and prayer. The purpose is to express our willingness to obey and move God to act on our behalf. Remember that although God planned to continue the human race through Noah, the smell of Noah’s sacrifice moved God to make a covenant of life with him. We need to plant sacrificial seeds that will cause our breakthrough to manifest. It is your turn to witness the might move of God.
Reflection: Is there anything in my life that I cannot sacrifice for the Lord?
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to take extraordinary sacrificial steps into my breakthrough in Jesus name.
FAITH BYTE:As I wait on the Lord, I take a step of faith by offering unto him a seed of sacrifice.
This Week Walk of Faith: Give the Lord a sacrifice of heart-felt praise at least 4 nights of this week.
