Scripture: 1 John 3:18-21
Dear Children, let’s not merely say that we love each other;
let us show the truth by our actions”
I John 3:18 (NLT)
Practice what you preach” is a common phrase used by
many to mean speak and act in unison. When you live
“
contrary to what you preach, your words will have no
effect. You may be unaware but there are people watching
and observing your lifestyle.
Your complaint or anger at people’s behavior may not
change their actions
but if your lifestyle is pure, reverent and
godly, you can turn them over for good. This boils down to the
truth that actions are more practical and can overtake words
to a great extent. Be conscious of the fact that as a Christian,
you often times find yourself surrounded by people who may
be friends, colleagues, acquaintances that consciously
watch and study your life style to see if what you preach
equates to how you act.
Christianity does not end with having a vast knowledge of the
word of God but is hinged on your practice of the principles of
the word of God that you know. Let your actions and way of
life be true to the word of God. Let them speak for you when
words fail. Your godly life can attract many to the kingdom of
God, it can calm situations in unpleasant circumstances.
Clothe yourself with godliness, purity and reverence so that
you can win many over and draw them to the kingdom of
God.
PRAYER: Lord, guide my actions;
help me to live a pure and
godly life to draw multitudes
to your kingdom
in Jesus name.
FAITH BYTE: My ways and actions
are true to the word of God,
I practice what I preach
