WORKING IN GOD’S WILL

Scripture: Jonah 1:1-17, Jonah 2:1,10
“They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.”  Jonah 2:8 (KJV)

You may have been struggling with a particular challenge in one area or the other in life for a very long time without knowing why. The reason could be a simple one which many of us often fail to see. Are your prayers, intentions and decisions in line with the will of God?

Jonah was sent to preach to the people of Nineveh so that they could hear the word of God and possibly repent and escape judgment (Jon. 1:2). But rather, he ran away, endangering the lives of others in the process and got swallowed by a fish (Jon. 1:3-17). His redemption started when he owned up to his mistake and cries out to God (Jon 2:1, 10), after which he was restored and completed his ministry successfully (Jon. 3:1-10).

When you get caught up in the turbulence and demands of your current situation, do not look elsewhere, reach out to God. Because at such times, there will be an abundance of contrary advisers and ungodly solutions. If at such times you lose your perception of God’s direction, you will end up positioning yourself for trouble (Jon. 2:8). Obstinacy and ignorance will only bring judgment. Be perceptive and submissive enough to always make room for and follow the will of God in all your affairs. This is the only way to overcome challenges in life and experience all round success.

PRAYER
Lord, grant me the grace to always yield myself in all my affairs to your Will for my life in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE
I come out of every turbulent sea. No whale can swallow up my destiny; I am walking in God’s will for my life.
