Scripture: Matthew 6:9-13
“Your Kingdom come. Your Will be done, On earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10 (NASB)

Believers tend to focus on the concept of heaven after death forgetting that this is not the sole purpose for which we have been put on earth to serve God. We have been placed here in this colony called earth so we can replicate what happens in heaven.

As seen from the template of prayer given to us by Jesus, we should be preoccupied with effectively bringing and enforcing God’s kingdom (heaven) here on earth (v10). Christianity is not just about dying and going to heaven. God’s strategy is to rule the earth through his sons and daughters.  Earth is God’s colony and we his children are the ones to colonize it. Jesus died to redeem and equip the souls of men, so that by the manifestation of the gifts of God in us, his kingdom of righteousness, peace and joy will indeed reign here just as it is in heaven (Eph. 4:8,11-16).

So how can we colonize this world for God? It begins with understanding what gifts and talents God has blessed you with. Then consciously and readily put them to use. Also be mindful of the opportunities provided by your daily routine to bring a little of God’s Kingdom into the world around you. When you share God’s word with others and lead them to Christ or serve humanity through your ministry and vocation, you are planting the seeds that will grow God’s kingdom on earth. Doing this at every opportunity you get is a great start. Go colonize the world for God so we can all truly experience heaven on earth.

Lord, thank you for the grace to grow your Kingdom on earth in Jesus name.

I am a channel through which God’s kingdom will come on earth.
