FIRMLY ESTABLISHED

Scripture: 1 Kings 2:10-12, 44-46
“Remove the wicked from the King’s court, and his reign will be made secure by justice.” Proverbs 25:5 (NLT)

The word “established” means sufficiently successful leading to continuation or permanence. When backed up by the word “firm”, the result becomes the position many people seek once they attain success or a certain level in life. Consequently, efforts have to be made in order to ensure that the success is not short-lived, but rather secured and firmly established.

Opposition is a major obstacle to success, and so they need to be removed. Enemies can go to great lengths to battle success. Once Solomon was enthroned as King, the first thing he did was to ensure that the kingdom was sanitized of all oppositions. He firmly established his rule. By God’s intervention, his enemies fell short of his command (v.43), roped themselves with their own guilt (v.30-31) and were eventually eliminated.

What oppositions do you see standing as threats to your success? Do you live in constant fear that the position which you have attained may not last because of some crafty devices being schemed by the enemy to snatch it away from you? Your enemies will stop at nothing to oppose you; therefore, you must secure yourself firmly on God’s word. Make Psalm 40:2 your personal declaration. Do not let the enemy take away that which you have labored for and which is rightfully yours because of fear or ignorance. Plant yourself solidly on God’s word, pray without ceasing and see how God will cause your enemies to scatter and give way for you.

PRAYER:
Lord, help me to be firmly established by your word in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE:
I stand on a rock that never fails; I am firmly established because God is my sure foundation.
