GOD’S COVENANT

Scripture: Gen. 9:8-17
“Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, He it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee” (Deuteronomy 31:6 KJV)

Noah had been in the ark for forty days and forty nights in the midst of a terrible storm. It must have felt like the end of the world, all of them wondering if they would ever see the sky again. God promised that he would never again destroy the world by flood, and the sign of this covenant of peace was a rainbow (Gen. 9:12-15). It certainly was a huge relief for Noah to finally be able to walk on dry land after being confined for long. When we see the rainbow, we are assured of God’s covenant that he will never flood the whole earth again.

God never changes and he will never go back on his promises. Once God says something, nothing changes it. There is always a rainbow at the end of the storm and no matter how bad a situation may seem, with God, there will be light at the end of the tunnel. God will always be there to carry you through every storm.

In your Christian walk of faith, you will go through some tough times, yet seek the lord. Run to him in the midst of your troubles and he will cover you. As threatening afflictions abound, have faith in the promises of God. Know in your heart that storms never last forever. Meditate on his promises and draw closer to him. Be still and find comfort in him. Jesus Christ is your rainbow; as long as he reigns, no flood in life can destroy you.

PRAYER:
Lord, help me to remember your promises in times of adversity and to be strong in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE:
My God will never leave me nor forsake me. I overcome because I have Jesus.
