Scripture: Esther 2:8-12
“The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of the law.” Deuteronomy 29:29 (NKJV)
Not everything is revealed to us immediately. Sometimes God hides things from us to protect us and other times he hides them to preserve them for us. Proverb 25:2 says “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, and it is the honour of a king to find it out.”
We should not be discouraged when we don’t know all about God’s plan, but rather we should trust him and take it one step at a time.
Esther concealed her identity at the prompting of Mordecai. She kept secret her family background and nationality just as Mordecai had told her to do, for she continued to follow Mordecai’s instructions as she had done when he was bringing her up. Had she revealed it earlier, Haman would have included her in his plot. Had she revealed it later, the Israelites would have been destroyed. God had her keep her nationality secret and revealed it at the right moment.
God will reveal to you what you need to excel at the right time. He will never be late for you. Don’t try to understand and analyze everything before you take action, trust that God is in control. God revealed the impending famine to Pharaoh at the right time to promote Joseph. God hid Nebuchadnezzar’s dream from him to promote Daniel. God will use his secrets to promote you at the appropriate time.
