Many people build on a foundation that is not Christ. Some build on the foundation of money; they will do nothing except it brings monetary gain to them. Some build on the foundation of their relationships or network; they bank and act on the words of individuals they trust even if they go against the word of God.
Others build on a foundation of lies; they lie and cheat their way through life to maintain their status. The bible warns against building on the wrong foundation.
Paul attempted to direct the attention of the church from physical, baseless arguments and quarrels concerning God’s servants and doctrines. He points out that the Christian’s focus should be on God, not the vessels He has chosen to serve Him. There is only one sure foundation to build on and that is Christ. Anything aside this is false and can lead to ruin.
It does not matter what you do or who you are, your foundation should be built on Christ. Abeliever’s standard for living must be based on the principles and truth of God’s word. God’s servants are only channels to guide believers to the truth of the word. When your foundation is built on the word of God, your actions will become consistent no matter where you are or who you deal with. The right foundation built in Christ is the most important recipe for success is every area of life.
Reflection: Am I building on a fleshy foundation or on the word of God?
PRAYER: Lord, grant me the grace to consistently build on the sure foundation of your word in Jesus name.
