THE POTTER’S TOUCH
Scripture: Esther 2:1-4
“But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.” Isaiah 64:8 (KJV)
Names in the Bible often tell us something about the bearers. Two meanings of the name ‘Hegai’ are “meditation and separation”. With an understanding of these words, we could say Hegai was given to detail and focused. Hegai ran a beauty finishing school
that in one year could turn mere virgins into queens. The man had an ability of taking what seemed insignificant and transforming it into something of significance.
A parallel could be drawn to God, our heavenly father, here. However, God goes beyond what Hegai does. Unlike Hegai who focused more on outward beauty, God has the ability to transform us from the inside. He does this by His word. God’s word is like a mirror that does not show what we are presently but what we ought to be. It is a reflection and a picture of how He expects us to be. With God’s word, we can move from ordinary to extraordinary.
God’s molding ensures that every area of our life is touched. And if we would yield to his hand to mold us, we are assured that our lives will be transformed from our inner man and we will become nothing but masterpieces. Sometimes, our molding will come with discomfort and pain but when we persevere through his hands, he turns us into fine vessels for his use and glory
PRAYER: Lord, mold me and make me into the person you desire me to be in Jesus name.
FAITH BYTE: By your word and your hand Lord, I work to reach my full potential.
