PROTECT YOUR FREEDOM

Scripture: Galatians 5:1-15

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us
free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.”  Galatians 5:1 (KJV)

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free! The declaration of our freedom is both a statement of an accomplished fact and a goal that we must all pursue. Freedom is ours because of the price Jesus paid on the cross. We have not liberated ourselves by our efforts. We are not able to do so.
Now that freedom has been given to us by Christ, that freedom is our goal and our responsibility.

Imagine a prisoner who had been in prison his whole adult life. He suddenly receives a message that he has been pardoned and set free. He did nothing to accomplish it. He was not even aware that
people were working behind the scene to obtain his release. He just knows that he is now standing outside the prison walls, a free man. What would this former prisoner do? He would singlemindedly
guard his freedom and ensure to stay out of trouble. We were like this prisoner until Jesus came. The essence of our human nature makes us slaves to sin and condemned to death. Our freedom was given to us free. We didn’t earn it but now we stand free from the chains and bondage of death.

It is therefore our goal and responsibility to live joyfully free knowing that in Christ, God has fulfilled his promise of freedom to us. Stay conscious of the liberating and redemptive act of Jesus. Protect your freedom.

PRAYER: Lord, keep me grounded and conscious of your sacrifice you made to purchase freedom
in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I do not take the sacrifice of Jesus for granted. I live and walk in the consciousness of the price Jesus paid for me.
