STAY ON GUARD

Scripture: Acts 4:23-31

“Therefore let the one who thinks he stands firm [immune to
temptation, being overconfident and self righteous], take care that
he does not fall [into sin and condemnation].” 1 Corinthians 10:12 (AMP)

After people achieve great feats, they tend to relax. The mind goes to rest and, at this point, many people become negligent. This negligence leads to a vulnerability that opens the door for even more challenges. Even when there is peace in your life, you must stay alert and prepared for war.

After the Apostles were acquitted by the tribunal set up to investigate the charges brought up against them concerning their faith, they immediately lifted up their voices in prayer and praise to God.
They stayed in the offensive with their weapons of prayer and praise. When you are at peace, that is the time to prepare for war. Build up your spiritual strength. Equip your arsenal. The men Gideon chose as his soldiers in Judges 7:5-7 were the men who lapped the water with their hands rather than bending over to lap water with their tongues so that they could effectively watch out for any attack from the enemy.

Throw away complacency. The enemy will take advantage of it. When you have overcome challenges, go back and build up your storehouse of weapons. Refill your spirit daily with the word.
Reinforce your walls daily in the place of prayer and stay thankful and joyful in praise. Stay on guard and sustain your hedge in Christ Jesus.

PRAYER: Lord, preserve and protect us as we engage our spiritual weapons daily in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I stay alert. I build up my spiritual strength daily and I have victory always.
