FEAR GOD

Scripture: Ecclesiastes 12:8-14

“By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches
and honour, and life.” Proverbs 22:4 (NKJV)

Success has many definitions. To some, it is all about achieving a particular set of goals. To others, it may be becoming the best in their profession, while many would see it as the ability to amass wealth. A few have fine-tuned the definition of success as being the best of who you are. No matter the definition, success without the fear of God is absolute failure.


The fear of God which is the beginning of wisdom does not emanate from reading of the bible alone neither is it from attending church service regularly. It is also not about performing or participating in all the religious functions of your local assembly. The fear of God comes from acknowledging that he
owns everything and having a one-on-one relationship with him. This is what he wants from you.

No matter how much you have contributed in terms of finance,time and other resources to the work for God, if you do not acknowledge and reverence him as Lord over your life, it is meaningless. Your personal relationship with him is what counts and matters. You can connect back to him today. Build and grow in fellowship with him by studying his word. When you grow in the fear of God, success will follow.

PRAYER: Lord, continue to teach me through the Holy Spirit how to be whom you want me to become in Jesus name.

 I fear God only and no one else because the Lord owns all and is in control of everything.
