NIGHT WATCHMAN

Scripture: Psalms 119:145-152

“Behold, bless ye the Lord, all ye servants of the Lord,
which by night stand in the house of the Lord” Psalm 134:1 KJV.

In any military formation, there are men assigned to stand guard at night and observe the environment around the city with the aim of foiling any surprise attack from the enemy. The Israelite army had 3 watches for this purpose, the beginning watch (lamentations 2:19), the middle watch (Judges7:19) and the morning watch (Exodus14:24; 1Samuel 11:11).
These watches are important because the night time is coincidentally the time when man is most vulnerable and darkness is most prominent.

David spent this very crucial period wisely, in the presence of God, meditating on His Word and praying. This is one of the secrets to his intimacy with God and his great exploits for God.

Are you passing through a tough time? Embroiled in physical and spiritual battles? Or do you just want a deeper relationship with God? Then join the elite group of soldiers, Special Forces in the army of God who continuously stand by night in God's presence. Pick a time (e.g from 2am to 3am) and observe it consistently. Your victory over the enemy will be consistent.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, strengthen me with the ability to get up to pray and study Your Word every night.

FAITH BYTE: I am an elite soldier of Jesus Christ, who stands at night in the presence of God.
