Scripture: 2 Samuel 12:7-18
“Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.” Proverbs 16:3 (NLT)
When a farmer plants, he reaps a harvest. Actions are the same; they have consequences. David suffered a loss resulting from his actions. Through his pain, he acknowledged that his punishment was due to his wrongdoing (vv. 23-24).Even today, some Christians tow the same line as David. They check their actions by the reaction they get. They become remorseful only when the reaction is unfavorable. It is important that you check your actions as they may not please God. Actions you overlook and feel they do not matter because they can hardly be noticed or do not harm anyone directly sometimes do matter. Regardless of the gravity of your action, once it goes against God’s will, then it’s wrong. Your thoughts, words or actions all count in the sight of God.
We may be quick to frown at David’s action but it is not different from lying against someone or cheating to climb the ladder of success. These actions may not seem as grievous as David’s but God counts them as serious. Turn to God now if you find yourself in this position. Acknowledge God’s opinion in every action you take. Check the weight of your actions by the word of God and prayer then you will have good success. Let your actions be that which is pleasing in the sight of God and which glorifies him.
PRAYER:
Lord, help me to always seek your face before taking any action in Jesus name, Amen.
FAITH BYTE:
My ways and actions are committed to God and I have good success.
