RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

Scripture: Matthew 22:35-38

“Then you will experience God’s peace which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus”. Philippians 4:7(NLT)

Alot of people today, are only concerned about their horizontal relationships. These are relationships that they have here on earth with fellow humans. They do not care about or get excited about their vertical relationship - their relationship with God. They fail to realize that this is where their power lies.

There is a lot to gain in a relationship with God. When we have a real relationship with God through Christ, life gets exciting because he stirs up a passion inside us. We do not have to struggle to do the things he calls us to do because we can rely on him. This happens when there is a deep and close relationship with God. A relationship where he is involved in everything we do. This close relationship comes from and results in constant communication with him just like we have with a close friend or family member.

To have a genuine relationship with God, you must love him and spend time with him. Your personal relationship with God begins the moment you realize your need for him, and then in faith receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour over your life. God desires to have an intimate relationship with you. Do you have a personal relationship him? If no, admit you are a sinner and welcome him into your life today. Then include him in your daily life; pray, study and meditate on the word to get to know him better. A relationship with God is the most important relationship you can have, embrace it today.

Lord, I receive the grace to maintain a vibrant relationship with you in Jesus name, Amen.
