Scripture: Hebrew 10:19-23 (NAS)
“Therefore holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling
Consider Jesus, the Apostle and High priest of our confession.”

The right use of our tongue links us to the Priesthood of Jesus. This is Jesus’ eternal ministry that goes on continually in heaven. He is forever representing us before God in the heavenly temple.
Note the last phrase in our text “high priest of our confession”. Most time what we do is believe without making a confession, then his priesthood is not going to operate on our behalf because, his priesthood is over our confession. He is moved into action by our spoken faith.
The word “confession” means literally “to say the same thing as”. That is to say the same thing that God has said in His word about us. This enables Jesus’ high Priesthood to be exercised on our behalf. But when we say something else aside from what is in the scripture, we frustrate his ministry.
There is heavenly power available to make your lives here the standard of heaven on earth. It is your confession that continues to link you to Jesus our high priest so as to enjoy this great benefit. Hand your life over to Jesus. Hold fast your confession of faith in his promises. He is the author of our faith. He will finish it gloriously.
PRAYER: Holy Spirit, come in and take control of my tongue. I yield to you. Give me a tongue that glorifies God.
FAITH BYTE: I shall hold fast to the confession of my faith without wavering because he is faithful who has promised.
