KEEP LEARNING

Scripture: Proverbs 4:1-7

“My son, pay attention to my words and be willing to learn;” Proverbs 4:20a (AMP)

There is such fierce competition in the face of changing technology and trends in the world that people cannot afford to be left behind in ignorance. People are forced to update their skills to stay relevant in the marketplace. Every believer needs to do the same. You are expected to update yourself daily in your knowledge of God’s word and direction for the current generation
just as you need to update your skills to remain relevant in the marketplace (Proverbs. 4:5,7). For instance, in the past we could only evangelize face to face but today it can be done on social media and other modern platform.

A believer that is not aware of their environment or surrounding will become severely limited to influence the world around him. As modern technology breaks grounds and communication barriers, we must learn to use them to God’s glory. The wide reach of these modern communication media gives every believer an opportunity to reach further with God’s word.

Keep learning. Be deliberate about it. Research, ask questions, and update yourself on the current trends in your chosen field. Knowledge and creativity are not meant for business or career alone but can be deployed to serve God’s body. There are always better ways of doing things in ministry. Be open minded, versatile and accommodating. When you do so, you can remain a relevant and potent influence for Christ (1 Corinthians. 9:19-23).
