BE A GOOD AMBASSADOR

Scripture: Matthew 23:1-15

“Outwardly you look like righteous people, but inwardly your hearts are filled with hypocrisy and lawlessness.” Matthew 23:28 (NLT)

An ambassador is someone sent from his mother country to another as a representative. Ambassadors are put in place to enhance the image and reputation of their mother country with the ultimate purpose of positively furthering its course in the foreign land
. In the same way, every believer is an ambassador representing Christ and heaven with a duty to further God’s kingdom on earth.

When Jesus was on earth, he frowned at the manner in which the teachers of the law conducted themselves. He was not happy with their dispositions. Their doctrines and teachings were leading people astray instead of bringing them to God’s Kingdom. As a matter of fact, Jesus told his disciples not to imitate them (Matthew 23:3).

As a citizen of heaven, your approach to life and actions should never influence men to turn their back on God. Your lifestyle should not bring disrepute to the name of the Lord. You must walk conscious of your calling and office. If you do not walk by the dictates of heaven, you are not a worthy ambassador. People should see you, hear you talk, see your actions and give Your actions must faithfully represent Christ. Like Paul, glorify your office so you can boldly tell others to imitate you. You are a light so shine and radiate God’s love and glory so you can become a magnet that draw others to the saving knowledge of God. That is the worthy calling of a true ambassador of heaven.
