THE ANT’S LESSON

Scripture: Proverbs 6:1-11

“Work brings profit, but mere talk leads to poverty! Proverbs 14:23 (NLT)

Ants are widely known as industrious, diligent and well organized animals. They are self-driven and can work without leadership or supervision. They work hard to gather for rainy days and so they are never in lack no matter the weather (v8). Humans are created with more developed and advanced abilities.
We have the ability to do a lot better than the ants if we decide to flee the clutches of laziness and procrastination.

You do not have to wait until plagued with challenges to work hard. Your labour must start early else poverty will embarrass you and push you to engage in ungodly activities. Also save for the future. Do not fold your hands procrastinating over decisions you can take today. After God revealed the upcoming famine to Joseph, he devised a plan to store food and provisions for the season of drought.. His proactive action did not only benefit Egypt but saved other nations as well (Genesis 41:17-36). There is no better time to prepare for the future than now.

Take a cue from the ants today. Get busy with something rewarding no matter how little it is, for there is dignity in labour. Do not work blindly. Create a vision, devise a strategy for achieving your vision and then consciously put in motion the plans that will bring your vision to pass. If need be connect with people who can assist and partner with you to fulfill your dreams. God wants you to prosper; get moving today and he will surely multiply your efforts.

PRAYER: Lord, give me the strength to work hard now so that I can reap the future benefits in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE: I am industrious. I work hard and plan for the future.
