Scripture: Genesis 6:5-9
“But Noah found grace in the eyes of the lord” Genesis 6:8 (KJV)
It is possible to remain faithful and pleasing to God even in the midst of a corrupt and sinful generation. To remain a faithful Christian, you must learn to stand alone. No one likes to be ridiculed and rejected and you will repeatedly face pressure to violate your Christian standards but in order to stand out in an evil day, you must walk with God.
Noah found favour with God despite the rampant wickedness that was increasing rapidly upon the earth. God was about to send judgment upon the world but extended His saving grace to Noah and his family. Noah walked with God and as a result of that God saved him and his family from the flood. Walking with God implies not only an obedient life, but one that has a lively and intimate relationship with God.
How do you live your life today? Do your friends and colleagues know you are born again? Do you conform to the cares of this world so you can fit in? It is easy to get tempted to go along with the crowd rather than stand out for Jesus. Jesus reminds us that “not everyone that saith to me, Lord, Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven” (Matt 7:21). Noah’s example is proof that it is possible to stand out in this day. Your identity as a Christian should never be compromised.
PRAYER:
Lord, help me to stand firm for you and never compromise my faith in Jesus name, Amen.
FAITH BYTE:
I refuse to succumb to the cares of this world; I stand on my faith as a Christian.
