BATTLE YOUR AMALEKITES

Scripture: Exodus 17:8-16
“And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nation; but his latter end shall be that he perish forever.” Numbers 24:20 (KJV)

Everyone on earth has enemies. It doesn’t matter what you do or who you are, some people will despise you. Your existence simply annoys them and if they can do something about it, they will. This type of causeless enemy was what the Amalekites were to the Israelites. They attacked the Israelites who had only just come out of Egypt for no just cause (Duet 25:17-18).

Moses’ response to the Amalekite’s attack was to commission Joshua to fight back. It was not a time to negotiate or beg, there was no reasoning together or trying to reach an amicable solution, it was time for war. The enemy is unreasonable and does not fight fair, so you must be willing to keep on fighting until they are totally vanquished. God had Moses record this event particularly for Joshua to remind him that the battle with the Amalekites will continue until they are totally destroyed (v.14).

Every family in any generation has a type of Amalekite that they have to contend with. God declared war on the Amalekites from generation to generation (v.16), therefore, be prepared to fight your own battle. Your parents cannot do it for you, neither can your pastor. You must arise to this battle by the power of God. Put on the whole armour of God, study the word, pray and fast, worship, use all the weapons available to you to resist the enemy. God is your banner and he has assured you of victory. Therefore, do not grow weary but fight until the enemy is defeated.

PRAYER:
By the blood of Jesus and the power in his name, I resist and rebuke the devil warring against me in Jesus name, Amen.

FAITH BYTE:
No weapon formed against me shall prosper for I am more than a conqueror.
