Scripture: Proverbs 4:23-25
“…for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.” Luke 6:45 (KJV)
The bible says that a good man out of the good treasure of his heart will bring forth that which is good and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart will bring forth that which is evil. Why is this so? We are told that “out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth will speak” (Luke 6:45).
The heart is where thinking occurs (Matt. 15:19). Therefore, the battle for your life is in your heart. This is because whoever controls your heart controls your life. If God is in control of your life, you will become like God and you can have heaven on earth. If the devil is in control, you will play out his agenda on earth. It is, therefore, important that you take on the responsibility of keeping your heart with all diligence because when the thoughts of your heart are focused on what is good and true, your life will reflect it
Control what you allow into your heart because the content of your heart will determine your words and actions. Set boundaries on what you hear and see. Be mindful of who and what you listen to and be careful what you watch. Remember Paul’s warning in the scriptures that all things may be lawful but not expedient (1 Cor. 6:12).
Lord, take control of my heart today and always so I will not be led astray in Jesus name, Amen.
The thoughts of my heart are pure, virtuous and of good report.
