DON’T BE A DISTRACTION

Scripture: 2 Samuel 20:1-3
“For God shall bring every work unto judgment with every secret thing, whether it be good or whether it be evil” Ecclesiastes 12:14 (KJV)

When people achieve certain heights in life, they may become distracted. There may be the tendency for someone close to them to become envious of their achievement. These people become thorns in the flesh as they  make efforts to discredit and belittle the success that has been achieved.

Sheba was seen and described as a good for nothing man. When he heard that king David was victoriously returning to his throne, he decided to be a distraction. Rather than welcome and rejoice with David, he ridiculed him and caused the people to desert the returning king. People like Sheba are in every sphere of life; they accuse, backbite and slander. Their goal is to act as stumbling blocks in the path of success but no matter how much they battle to hinder success, they will meet an end like Sheba’s (vs. 22). God will judge them and terminate their works.

As believers, avoid situations or actions that will cause you to become a distraction to another. Be a support and lend a hand to someone on their way to the top. God will, in time, bless and make all thing beautiful for you too. Remember, he never forgets and will always reward your deeds. Therefore, rather than bring others down, shine the light of Jesus on their path through your words and actions.

PRAYER:
Lord, I receive your grace not to be a distraction to others. I rejoice with them when they succeed in Jesus name, Amen.

FAITH BYTE:
I support others on the journey to success and God blesses me immensely.
