CHILDREN AS HERITAGE

“Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me; and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.” Mark 9: 37 (KJV)

One of the goals of parenthood is to raise children to love and follow God (Deut. 6:2) and to help them reach their individual potentials (Prov. 22:6). The bible is protective of children but realistic about what measures are necessary to develop their character.
Every child has the right to a good education, the right to live, learn and play, right to be happy, safe and free. No child should be enslaved.

Poverty is often seen as the main cause of child slavery. It is widely believed that families will be unable to cope if their children do not work. Children are easily exploited and seen as cheap labour. Children who work are usually not educated. Child slavery exist in different forms because children’s rights are not respected. Every adult is to ensure that no child under their care or another is abused or exploited.

Children have a special place in God’s heart and anyone who hurts or abuses a child is inviting God’s wrath upon himself (Mark 10:13). No child should be enslaved; every child should be protected. Every child is entitled to good education. Are you a parent or a guardian who oversees a child? Ensure that child is provided for and protected. Reflect on how you treat the child or ward you oversee and have a change of heart if you mistreat them. Rather, place them on the path of destiny by showering them with the same love your father in heaven has bestowed on you.

PRAYER:
Lord, thank you for the grace to shower your love on every child in my care in Jesus name Amen.

FAITH BYTE:
I willingly and faithfully help every under my care to achieve God’s plan for their life.
