ARE YOU READY FOR THE KING’S RETURN?

Scripture: 2 Samuel 19:19-42
“Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” Matthew 24:44 (KJV)

As the king (David) returned, some people were prepared and happy while others were not so glad to see him return. Those who were faithful while the king was exiled, were happy and confidently approached him and even made personal requests from him. While those who were unfaithful during the period were worried about his return and asked for mercy and pardon.

Many, today, are living life on their own terms without giving a thought to Jesus’ return. They deny Jesus, mock him and refuse to submit to His authority. This attitude does not change the fact that a day will come when Jesus will return and everyone will have to face him and give an account of their life here on earth (Romans 14:12).

Are you ready to face Jesus if he returns now? Will you be facing him with confidence and gladness of heart or with worry and fear? Just like the wise virgins who were prepared for the feast in Matthew chapter 25, you can prepare now when there is still time. Unlike Shimei’s case, there will be no opportunity to ask for mercy. Grab the opportunity now to ask for mercy. Say a prayer and invite Jesus to become Lord over your life. If you have veered off the path of righteousness, you can recommit to God today. Do not be caught off guard. Be ready!

PRAYER:
Lord, help me to live a ready life awaiting your glorious coming  in Jesus name, Amen.

FAITH BYTE:
I am prepared at all times to welcome the Lord's presence unto my life.
