SERVE WITH REVERENCE

Scripture: 1 Samuel 6:13-20
“Ye shall keep my Sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.” Leviticus 19:30 (KJV)

In our society today, a lot of people know exactly what the law says, yet, they go ahead to break it thereby attracting judgment. Some find themselves in prison, others end up being killed. In like manner, Christians who know what God’s word says but do contrary will face God’s wrath in their lives.
God smote the men of Beth-Shemesh because they had looked into the Ark of the Lord.  These people knew the law of the Lord, which states that only the Levites are permitted to touch and carry the Ark of the Lord. These men did not only touch but also peeped into the Ark of the Lord which was not allowed thereby defiling it because of their curiosity. This resulted in the death of the sons that were supposed to be the custodians of the presence of God's covenant.

The fact that God has chosen you and blessed you does not give you a license to handle his affairs with levity. Being chosen is an opportunity to grow in grace and works; it is not to bring us into judgment that comes from over-familiarity with God. Serve with respect, reverence and obedience. This is the key to your supernatural success.

PRAYER:
Lord, give me the grace to always serve you with loving devotion and respect in Jesus name.

FAITH BYTE:
I walk in grace and honour with God always and his favour remains with me.
